Twins Prospect Allstar Team

Here is the Twins Prospect Allstar Team, based on how they project as major league players.

2 - Danny Rams
3 - Chris Parmelee
4 - Brian Dozier
5 - Miguel Sano
6 - Nikko Goodrum
7 - Angel Morales
8 - Aaron Hicks
9 - Eddie Rosario
DH - Orlando Arcia
UT - James Beresford

Rotation:
Kyle Gibson
Alex Wimmer
Liam Hendrick
Adrian Salcedo
Matt Bashore

Bullpen:
Carlos Gutierrez
Delios Guerra

The outfield positions and DH are pretty random. All those guys project as decent defenders and good enough with that bat to DH. I think Hicks is the only one who will be a plus centerfielder.

The pitching is not in any particular order and the rotation looks really thin. There are a number of pitchers who could end up filling out the bullpen, but I don't think any others stand out as potential closer material.

I wouldn't make too much of this in the short run. There were several young Twins who were playing in the major leagues because of injuries this year that otherwise might be on this list. Revere, Plouffe, Hughes, Tosoni, Diamond and Oliveros.

I enjoy your take on things and I am glad you don't put this year's draft choices into your list. I believe Dozier has a shot at making it as a major league shortstop. It would increase his value immensely since the Twins have a number of MI whose best position is 2b. Goodrum is too far away for me to be sure he has a more than a chance to be a major league shortstop.

While I understand your reasons not to be very high on Benson, his tools remind me of a young Hunter. Plus he has better minor league stats.

I have thought that Bromberg has a shot to be a major league starter. His injury set him back this year. I like Henricks, I believe he has a very good chance to be a staff ace, in 3 or 4 years.

The Twins have had a bit of bad luck on their recent highly drafted pitchers. Hunt, Gibson and Wimmers were not bad draft choices, they just show how fragile pitchers can be. Like you, I expect that Gibson and Wimmers will likely be useful big league starters, eventually. Salcedo may have the most upside of any Twins pitcher prospects.
